How Camera Sync collects, uses, and protects your information.

Camera Sync ("we", "our", or "us") operates the Camera Sync service and related websites. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.
Information we collect
To provide the service, we collect:
- Account information: Email address and name from your Google sign-in when you create an account.
- FTP credentials: Username and password we generate for your camera to upload photos. These are stored encrypted.
- Upload metadata: Filename, file size, timestamp, and upload status for troubleshooting. We do not store photo content or image data.
- Subscription and billing: Subscription status and billing history. Payment card details are handled directly by Stripe; we do not store card numbers.
We do not collect or store: photo content, your Google account password, or payment card details.
How we use your information
We use the information above to:
- Provide and operate the Camera Sync service (syncing photos to your Google Photos album).
- Authenticate you and manage your account and FTP access.
- Process subscriptions and send billing-related communications.
- Troubleshoot issues and improve the service.
- Send transactional emails (e.g., welcome, subscription status) via our email provider.
- Comply with legal obligations where required.
Third parties
We share data only as needed to run the service:
- Google: We use the Google Photos API to create albums and upload your photos to your Google account. Our use of Google user data is subject to the Google API Services User Data Policy.
- Stripe: Payment processing. Stripe's privacy policy applies to payment data: stripe.com/privacy.
- Resend: Transactional email delivery. Their privacy policy applies to email data.
- Google Analytics: We may use Google Analytics to understand how the website is used. You can control this via your browser or Google's opt-out tools.
We do not sell your personal information.
Data retention and deletion
- Upload metadata: Retained for up to 90 days for troubleshooting, then removed.
- Account and credentials: Retained while your account is active.
- After account deletion: We delete your account data and credentials within 30 days. Backup or log data may persist briefly as part of normal operations.
Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction or deletion of your data.
- Request a copy of your data in a portable format.
- Object to or restrict certain processing.
- Withdraw consent where processing is consent-based.
To exercise these rights, contact us at support@camerasync.app. You can also delete your account at any time from the dashboard.
You may revoke Google Photos access at any time via your Google Account permissions.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies for:
- Session and authentication (e.g., keeping you signed in).
- Analytics (e.g., Google Analytics) to understand site usage.
You can control cookies through your browser settings.
Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS, FTPS, SFTP) and encryption at rest for sensitive data such as FTP credentials. If you discover a security issue, please report it to security@camerasync.app.
Children
The service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page and, for material changes, we may notify you by email or through the service. Your continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
