Understanding the free plan and when to upgrade.

Camera Sync offers a generous free tier so you can try the service before committing to a paid plan.

Free plan limits

The free plan includes:

  • 100 photos per month: Your monthly quota resets on the 1st of each month
  • FTP, FTPS, and SFTP support: All secure connection methods included
  • Automatic Google Photos sync: Same instant sync as Pro users
  • Full dashboard access: Monitor your uploads and usage

What happens when you reach the limit?

If you exceed 100 photos in a month:

  1. Additional photos are marked as queued
  2. Queued photos are stored securely but not synced to Google Photos
  3. You'll see a notification on your dashboard

Queued photos are automatically synced when:

  • You upgrade to Pro (instant processing)
  • The next month begins (if within the new month's quota)

Important: Queued photos are stored for 7 days. If you don't upgrade within 7 days, queued photos will be permanently deleted.

Upgrading to Pro

The Pro plan offers:

  • Unlimited photos: No monthly limits
  • Priority support: Faster response times
  • Cancel anytime: No long-term commitment

To upgrade:

  1. Go to your dashboard
  2. Click the Upgrade button
  3. Complete checkout via Stripe
  4. Your queued photos will begin syncing immediately

Frequently asked questions

Do unused photos roll over? No, the 100 photo quota resets each month and doesn't accumulate.

What counts as one photo? Each file uploaded counts as one photo, regardless of file size or format.

Can I delete photos to free up quota? No, the quota counts all uploads in the billing period. Deleting photos from Google Photos doesn't affect your quota.

Is there a file size limit? There's no specific file size limit, but very large files may take longer to process.

Checking your usage

View your current usage anytime on your dashboard:

  • Current month's upload count
  • Progress bar showing quota usage
  • List of recent uploads with status
